Checklists
Catch it on the walk, not at harvest.
A walkthrough checklist asks every person the same questions, in the same order, in every room. Anything other than normal surfaces the same day, while somebody can still do something about it.
It’s also how multiple rooms and sites stay consistent. Same prompts, same order, every walk, so week three in one room means the same thing as week three in the next.
Consistent Data Conditions Growth
It starts with the data. Consistent answers give you consistent conditions, and consistent conditions give you consistent growth.
What’s in the checklist?
A PDS walkthrough checklist is a fixed set of questions a grower answers on a phone while walking a room, in the same order, from week one through harvest. The questions never change. The answers do, and that’s what makes one room’s week three comparable to the next room’s week three.
- Sections that follow the walk: room info, air and climate, lighting, visual plant check, pest and disease, equipment status, safety.
- Set answers instead of free text. Environment feel is Normal, Too Hot, Too Cold, Too Humid or Too Dry. Tap it and keep moving.
- A note or a photo on any line, captured in the room at the moment somebody sees it.
- A sign-off at the end: general notes, and one switch for whether a follow-up is required.
Who runs it, and on what
PDS is role based by design, and checklists are the clearest case of it.
Cultivator
Phone, in the room. Tap the answer, add a photo or a note.
Head grower
Tablet or laptop. Every room's state at once, without walking the building.
Owner, director
Any screen. Whether the standard held, across every room and every site.
What it connects to
PDS layers on top of the systems you already run and never replaces them.
The checklist adds what none of them capture: what a person saw in the room.
An off answer raises an alert the same day. A flagged line becomes a follow-up with a name on it. The answers stay attached to the room and the cycle, so they sit beside the numbers in the harvest report. The site lead gets the open items by email.
None of it waits for somebody to read the form.
