Equipment Validation
The Equipment Validation Process in PDS maps and validates every component in a cultivation room, confirming each is correctly installed, calibrated, and performing to specification.
Maps and validates every piece of equipment in a cultivation room—confirming it’s installed, calibrated, and performing to specification before and throughout a harvest cycle.
The Equipment Validation Process in PDS begins by mapping the complete configuration of each zone or room, capturing everything from room dimensions, cultivation style, and tier layout to the specific hardware running the space. This
includes lighting (with wattage per fixture and raise-and-lower capability), air conditioning and dehumidification capacity, circulating fans, irrigation setup (drip emitter sizing, drain-to-waste versus recirculating, single or
multiple shots), and growing media such as coco, rockwool, or soil. The feature is sensor-agnostic, integrating with a wide range of control systems and sensors—including root-zone and under-canopy sensors—to verify that each component
is installed correctly, calibrated to spec, and holding within tolerance. It alerts growers when performance drifts from target levels, enabling them to address issues before they affect the crop.
Beyond initial validation, the Equipment Validation Process gives growers a documented baseline of every room’s configuration and helps them track equipment performance over time to understand how specific systems behaved across a harvest. With a full record of dimensions, canopy square footage, HVAC tonnage, dehumidification output, and irrigation parameters, growers can fine-tune their setups and catch drift or degradation early, ensuring that future harvests are not only more predictable but also more profitable. Whether managing a single grow room or multiple cultivation sites, this tool empowers growers to take full control of their equipment, reducing risks and improving outcomes through reliable, validated infrastructure.
